Finally got round to reading this as my wife out for the evening so I'm clearing some of the inbox. Fascinating. Thanks a lot. I think I'm coming to see myself as a very slow producer of pulp! XD Here's my digital vs. analogue take for the day: I've written about 1,800 words today of a new project about a teacher in a magical school. It was hard, but fun, and it feels good to have written it. Then I came on the internet and looked at all these hyper successful trad and indie-published authors and just felt despair. Conclusion: **** the internet!
Apologies for lowering the tone of your comment space--I was clearly in an odd mood when I wrote this--my 1yo is teething right now so sleep is contested--I've censored the profanity now!
An interesting and wide-ranging conversation offering great insight into your differing approaches to writing and publishing together with thoughts on the use of AI. Thanks Tim and Simon.
Many thanks, Eve, I'm glad you enjoyed it. There are certainly interesting changes underway in storytelling and publishing. Simon was the perfect guide to this new terrain!
